I watched and read 'A Kind of Loving' by Stan Barstow over the weekend. I thought the film was very good and had everything in it that I like in the kitchen sink films but I thought the book although it was written well and enjoyable to read, didn't have the socialist or left views that something like Look Back in Anger has. It was racist and sexist at times which isn't what I expected but then again it was written in the 60's by a man. Overall I did enjoy it but it wasn't my favourite out of the genre.
