The Illustrated Dust Jacket Martin Salisbury

 

Martin Salisbury chosen UK and USA illustrators from the mid-century 
who created dust jackets from the years 1920-1970. 
I have found this book extremely useful when creating work, the colours and patterns
offer lots of inspiration. 
Within this project because I am focusing on the mid 60's I think it's important to look
at the art around that time, as well as fine artists like John Bratby I think the illustrated covers of books
from the mid-century are not only some of my favourite illustrations but offer art to the lower classes as book covers are more affordable than say paintings from a fine artist.
