The Lion in Love Shelagh Delaney

Shelagh Delaney's second play published in 1960 'Lion in Love' I found really interesting although it didn't get very good reviews, Kit the mother of the family is very much like the mother in Taste of Honey as they reject the stereotypical roles or traits that women should have as mothers.

It again embodied the essence of kitchen sink the dialogue was witty dark northern humour and everyone was very upset at their positions in life, I managed to get a copy of Shelagh's collection of short stories 'Sweetly Sings the Donkey' so I will be reading that next.
