Working class Movement Library talk - Kath Duncan

As the invisible history talks have started again at the library I went to the one on Wednesday.
To celebrate LGBTQ+ month Raymond Woolford an activist based on London spoke about his discovery about activist Kath Duncan which he has now turned into a book and play.

Kath Duncan was a gay woman, communist and activist from the 1920's up until the 40's in Britain. She led many marches and dedicated her life to helping the people but there are virtually no records of her in history, until Ray. She has now got a wikipedia page and Ray is working on spreading the word about his book titled 'The Last Queen of Scotland.'

I found the talk yesterday so inspiring and fitting to my project and my career goals. Ray has worked for five years to create a history for Kath and clearly values the unheard voices of the working-class. He started the talk off by listing names of some notable women who over many years have helped the working-class but have not been praised for it. For a man to want to chart these working-class women's efforts I thought was amazing.

I have been thinking about getting in touch with Ray and creating a piece in dedicated for Kath.
