As my dad's family are from Leigh I was really looking forward to this talk as many of the speakers I have heard from in talks about working-class history are mostly concerned with cities and towns further down south. 
The talk by Yvonne led us through 100 years of female activism including this image of Leigh Parish Church where many reform meetings were held around 1819. I sent this photo to my dad and asked if he recognised it and he said that him and my Grandma would go to the market there every Saturday morning which was a lovely part of my history to think about.
