The Lion in Love Collage and Ideas for Scenes

The Lion in Love was Shelagh's second play and produced in 1961.

The play details the life of Frank, his wife Kit, their teenage daughter Peg, Kit's father Jesse and their older son Banner.
Frank is the sole income provider for the family and has a suitcase which he sells children's toys out of on the market, as they cannot afford a stall. Peg helps him on Saturday's.

Similarly to A Taste of Honey, Shelagh details the role of the mother to be neglective and selfish, Kit is an alcoholic who is always in trouble with the law and the family rely on Frank to provide for them.

Most of the play is directed within their crowded house or at the market, I thought the imagery at the market would be interesting to start off with.
The scene is of Frank selling his toys as Jesse describes in the play
'He's still selling out of the old suitcase. He's changed his line though. He's selling atom bombs and
death ray guns and shrunken heads now, you know - novelties for the little kiddies.'

I found the image of the men at the market and then photoshopped an usher's tray onto the picture of another man, and then put myself in the background as I think I will fill the role of Peg within most of the scenes.
