Finished Print - Saturday Morning at the Market - coloured on photoshop
I'm really pleased with how the print turned out, I think it portrays well the atmosphere of the play and I'm glad I added in one of the guns in Frank's suitcase. I tried to push this print with cutting out smaller spaces which I would usually leave black like the top window but I think it worked really well. There are a few other scenes from the market that I would like to explore, as for other interior scenes I will use the collages from A Taste of Honey to explore them.
I also want to research and explore more the history of the markets, as they aren't as popular now as we have supermarkets but especially when I was reading Rachel Lichtenstein's book 'On Brick Lane' she explains how important markets were for working-class people and people who lived in poverty. |
