Adding William Morris wallpaper to collage
![]() |
After finishing up the bulk of my research and being inspired by William Morris's ideas along with his work I wanted to incorporate some of it in my prints. I took one of the Taste of Honey collages that I made at the start of March and photoshopped the wallpaper design 'Leicester' on to the walls. I thought the big leaves with the smaller flowers would look good in print as I didn't want anything too small that would just end up looking like dots as when I sized the wallpaper down it was quite small. I chose to change from the scenes from The Lion in Love to A Taste of Honey as I want to keep with the market scenes and the wallpaper or any design wouldn't of looked right outside. I can't find the date of when Morris would of designed the work but it has been in print since 1955. The flowers are scrolling acanthus leaves and there are some carnations in the background.
